Heather first started in the Solar Industry in 2006, working for a small installation company and volunteering at ASES and MREF events. She was able to gain valuable experience and perspective by being involved in all aspects of the installation business from small residential projects to power purchase agreements. She was able to see, first hand, the challenges of the permitting and inspection process. Through that experience, she decided to pursue her graduate studies in policy and how it impacts the solar industry. Heather was a member of the Minnesota Renewable Energy Society, where she was involved with the advocacy and policy initiatives for the Twin Cities area. Before joining Focused Energy in 2011, she was Director of Global Sales and Technical Development at Wiley Electronics LLC. In that position, she had the opportunity to speak and work with a broad spectrum of representatives in the industry. Heather has traveled extensively and has a good overview of the obstacles facing this emerging technology, at the manufacturing and installation levels, an ideal skill set at a distribution company.

Heather lives in Santa Fe and enjoys snowboarding, mountain biking, rafting, yoga, and generally staying active.
